A Bit About Me

I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, with experience of working with children, young people and adults. Working integratively means I use different modalities and techniques such as Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive and Systemic. I believe it is important to work flexibly and dynamically to what you as the client needs for your session. I also believe that the relationship between a counsellor and client is one of the most important and influential aspects of how effective counselling can be. I put you as my client at the centre of my work and I am guided and led by what you want to bring into the session.

I also really enjoy working creatively with my clients, and supporting them to express themselves in a creative way if they are struggling to find the words. I will often bring into sessions games and toys to help with sensory needs or for clients who struggle with maintaining eye contact.  I can also bring in figures, objects, pens & paper and utilise resources such as sand trays and paints to support clients to feel able to articulate themselves. Creativity can be a powerful way of expressing yourself, and this is your choice if you would like to use this method during your sessions.
